I love the whole Heatley, Senators, Brian Burke drama that happened the other day. The media asked Burke if he was interested in bringing Heatley to the Leafs and his comments were both brutal and honest:
"We're not going to be in on (Heatley)," said Burke. "I have certain guidelines about how players ask for trades."
One thing that Burke can never be blamed for is being wishy washy. Although I question some of the moves he made after the Ducks won the cup, and even if he did leave Anaheim in a cap space nightmare, Burke has always said what's on his mind. He tells us what he really thinks about Heatley:
"For a player to quietly and professionally ask for a trade, that's fair ball for me. For a player to pop off and say he wants out, or leak it ... in my mind now, you're no longer interested in your team. You've handcuffed the GM."
I miss him; I miss him not; I miss him; I miss him not; I miss him.
