Oh Canada times three!

Oh my gosh!! 3 Canadian teams are in the playoffs!!

I can almost hear all of Canada breathing a small sigh of relief, because there are three teams representing the possibility of a Stanley Cup return to its homeland! That’s right, Canada has three shots at the cup, and the stress of it all rests on the shoulders of the Vancouver Canucks, the Ottawa Senators and the Montreal Canadians! I know it’s not the beloved Toronto Maple Leafs, but beggars can’t be choosers, eh? Of the three teams, I like the chances of Montreal Better. The West is too strong, and more than likely the winner of the Western Conference will enter into the finals beaten and exhausted far more than the Eastern counterpart. Ottawa seems like the better team than Montreal, but if I am going strictly on gut instinct. Now do I think Canada indeed will win the cup? No. I will go as far as saying that the West will pummel each other to the point that I think this year’s cup winner will be an Eastern Conference team…most likely the Capitals.

The Sedin twins are for real!
The hockey world has always considered the Sedin twins a force to reckon with in Vancouver, but this year the two are on fire, and just in time for the playoffs. The competition is going to be fierce this year, so it’s a good thing that all is well in the land of the twins. I think the team that plays Vancouver may have their hands full in the first round, and could see that series going a full seven games, unless of course the wonder twins just go nuts all over the competition.

Well, after this today, the playoffs officially begin, and with that another chapter in Stanley Cup history will come to an end. It will be a great tournament, and as I stated earlier, the west is going to be battered and bruised more so than the east, giving an eastern team a great chance at raising the cup. Once the final pairings have begun, I will comment on each individual series next Sunday!
