NHL Rule Change for 2010-2011 Season

The NHL is making a rule change for the upcoming season for tie breakers. The new rule will look at total regulation and overtime wins for a tie breaker, and no longer consider shoot out wins. This new rule puts more emphasis on the first 60 minutes and the five minutes played in overtime, hopefully making 65 minutes more intense and exciting. I get what they mean by that. Sometimes, it almost seems like a team is happy just to hang on for the shoot out. Especially if the team feels their goalie is superior to the team they happen to be playing on that particular night.
