The Ducks took a webbed foot in the right direction by beating the hot Phoenix yotes! Its amazing to see their goal tender BRYZ and think that just a few years ago he was a Duck. BRYZ was great as a back up and obviously has fit in perfectly with the Yotes style of play, literally carrying them to the top spot in the Pacific. It'll be interesting to see how they finish the regular season, but they for sure, are an exciting team.
Anyhow, back to the Ducks....even without VISH (out with back spasms) and Teemu, the Ducks were able to squeeze out a win, in convincing fashion, and leave Glendale with 2 points. Cam Fowler continues to impress, as he took over VISH's spot on the power play, and just seems to get better with every game (thank you all you other teams for passing up this kid at the draft). GETZ and PERRY had multiple points in the game, as well as KOIVU, but the real star was none other than "HOLD OUT FOR MO' MONEY" BOBBY RYAN.
The kid went ballistic and had himself a hatrick for good measure. I DVR'ed the game and I could have sworn after he scored his 3rd goal, he yelled out, "You guys got me cheap!!" as he passed the Ducks bench. Hopefully, RYAN can keep up the point onslaught against the Queens in the next game, and not fall back into the slump he's been in for a few games now. I guess we can't ask for too much, after all, he had to settle for a 20+ Million Dollar contract and not the 30+ Million I'm sure he and his agent wanted.
Up next, the Ducks take on the Queens, who sit above the Ducks by 1 point (Ducks 25, Kings 26). Both teams have had their ups and downs as of late, so the game should be evenly matched in terms of intensity and importance. Who will show up, is another question. Good news for the Ducks is that TEEMU returns tomorrow night, and sometime in the far future POSSIBLY LUPUL, which is not exciting whatsoever. LUPUL is hardly a force on the ice, so his return, IMHO, will not impact the Ducks at all. Horrible trade return if you ask me.
Well, I will be watching and listening to the Ducks versus the Queens from class, so hopefully, I'll either be grumbling mad things to myself, or sticking my chest out and smiling from cheek to cheek.
Go DUCKS!!!
