Hawks to play for cup!

As of this writing, Philly has a 3-1 lead on Montreal, and is looking to close them out on Monday in order to play for Lord Stanley’s Cup! Montreal showed in their one victory that when they stay focus and play aggressive good things happen. Whether or not they play for the cup is entirely up to the Habs and it looks like it will take nothing less than another miraculous comeback. Can the Habs do two comebacks in one tournament? They would only have to win 3 games instead of 4. I tend to think this uphill battle will be too much for the Habs, and expect Philly to wrap things up Monday, or even the game after that.

And finally, the San Jose Sharks became the 2nd greatest losers in NHL history. The Islanders were the first team to post four consecutive 100+ seasons and not make the NHL finals…..and now there are two. The Sharks looked promising this season with their first round victory, and seemed to have everyone believing that this was the year for the team. In the end the Blackhawks proved to be too much for them and swept the Sharks out of the conference final. Many speculate that there will be, or at least should be, many changes to not only the lineup but the front office as well. We shall see what next season brings for the Sharks. For now, the Hawks get to sit back and wait to see what team they face next. Only 4 wins stand between Chicago and the cup! The cup is so close, yet still so very far away!
