Secondly, the Ducks still have the grit that was made famous in 2007. In fact, in today's game, Corey Perry and Dutsucks once again rekindled their love/hate relationship ever since Perry called him out on live television during a playoff game. It took Datsucks three years to respond and he did so in today's game:
I give Datsucks credit for dropping the gloves. I think this is foreshadowing for some exciting games in the future...say maybe in June?
Other unmentionables from today's game:
Sutton fractures a finger? Ugh, good. Get him off the ice.
Cam Fowler....keep your head up kid. On the job training is the best! Your doing a good job thus far.
Hiller....*shakes head* enough with the designer helmets....get your head in the game.
Some where, Scott Neidermayer is sitting in a chair watching today's game, and then looking at his Ducks jersey peeking out of his closet, with one eye brow up, and a smile on his face.
As is always the case in Detroit, the refs seemed to forget that the home team can be penalized.
Bobby Ryan received 4 minutes of penalties, Perry received 15 minutes, Getz got 4, Parros received 12, 5 minutes for Brookbank, and 2 minutes each for Mara and Sexton and Sutton for a total of 46 minutes.
Holmstrom, Zetterberg, Datsuck, and Salei recieved a total of 26 minutes.
So game 1 is in the books....time to look to game 2 and burn this page.
